AI chat

With access to your financial data through tools built into the app, artificial intelligence can noticeably sharpen the analysis of your money flows: find where your money goes, compare periods, work out how much you set aside, and talk through ways to save with you. For it to work well, the app should already hold your income and expenses for at least one month.

Our rule is simple: Pigles doesn't process your data on our servers and has no access to it at all. That's why you connect the AI yourself, through a third-party service, and pass your financial data to it directly. More on this in the "Important" section at the end of the page.

The AI features require an active Pigles subscription — without it, the "AI provider" settings section isn't available.

The connection uses a third-party provider's OpenAI-compatible endpoint and an API key that you pay for yourself. Despite the name, this is just a type of connection: it's supported not only by OpenAI but by most other AI providers too. We recommend DeepSeek — the best value for money.

How to get an API key

Connecting directly through DeepSeek

Go to platform.deepseek.com, sign up and log in.
Top up your balance with a couple of dollars — that should last a couple of months.
Create an API key.
In the app, open Settings → AI provider, choose DeepSeek and paste the key.
Tap "Check connection". If everything went well, the "AI chat" item appears in the Pigles main menu.

With "Set up manually" you can connect any other provider and any other model with an OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

How it works

The app works with the AI through a limited set of tools. The AI doesn't get access to your whole database: for each question, it uses the tools to request only the specific slices of data it needs to answer.

Important

When you use this feature, your financial data is sent to and processed on the servers of a third party — the AI provider you connected. If that's not acceptable to you, don't use this tool.

The Pigles developer doesn't control these third parties, isn't affiliated with them, and doesn't receive your data: the app talks to the provider directly, without notifying the developer and without leaving any trace on the developer's servers. We are not responsible for how third-party services work. If you want your data deleted, contact the provider directly.

The quality and accuracy of AI answers are not guaranteed, especially with models other than DeepSeek v4.1 Flash, which we have tested. AI answers are food for thought, not financial, tax or legal advice; the decisions are yours.
